Jorge & Silva with other First Street Green members participated in a panel discussion along with Jonathan Kuhn, Director of Art & Antiquities for the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, the Lab co-curators, David van der Leer and Maria Nicanor and members of the community to share closing discussion on the last day of the BMW Guggenheim Lab.

First Street Green was invited by PPS to their event at the BMW Guggenheim Lab to hold a discussion group on the future of the park.

First Street Green participated in the BMW Guggenheim Lab's What's Next workshop in conjunction with the 1st Street Block Association's annual block party to continue gathering community ideas for future programming in the park. Our visioning wall was built and added to in the street.

TODO DA as a member of First Street Green hosted a programming workshop at the BMW Guggenheim Lab to gather community ideas for future programming in the park. Over 420 visioning tiles were written and drawn on by visitors and built into a 16' x 2' x 8' high visioning wall. Over 1500 participants attended the Lab that day.

Todo Design & Architecture will be participating in the Exhibition "Leverage: Strengthening Neighborhoods through Design" at the Center for Architecture in Philadelphia from Saturday, October 1 through Sunday, October 23. The opening will be held on October 5, 2011. Check it out.
We attended the community preview of the BMW Guggenheim Lab on Saturday. Got a chance to see the place in motion. Getting ready for the October 2 official opening.

The "First Street Green" team attended the kickoff breakfast for the "BMW Guggenheim Lab New York" at the Guggenheim Museum. Todo Design & Architecture and First Street Green are currently working on our September 10, 2011 workshop to take place in the Lab to introduce the future culture park to the community and get feedback on what types of programming will support the community's goals.

"First Street Greens" efforts with the Parks Department have attracted interest from the Guggenheim Museum which is moving ahead with hosting their "BMW Guggenheim Lab New York" component at the lot this year. First Street Green is working with the BMW Guggenheim Lab team to plan for the future of the lot after the lab moves away.

"Blind Dates" opened at Pratt Manhattan Gallery on November 18. The show runs through February 12, 2011.

"Remains Connected" A conversation between architects Silva Ajemian and Aslihan Demirtas, moderated by Lebbeus Woods at Pratt Manhattan Gallery. "Remains Connected" is the second in a series of public discussions organized in conjunction with the Blind Dates curatorial project which opens at Pratt Manhattan Gallery in November, 2010.

Silva will be presenting her component of the group show Blind Dates at the Arts in the One World 2010 conference at Brown University.
Jorge will be presenting "Why we draw, prehistory in architectural design" at the MADE Conference at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

First Street Green had a table at this year's First Street block party. The Paris Bowl group including Ann, John and Scott distributed fliers and got the word out to the community that we are pushing ahead with plans for the park. We are working with a local community group to develop a sculpture park in an abandoned lot on the lower east side of New York. 1st Street Green will be a local resource for the community and arts organizations to promote the arts downtown. Stay tuned.

The Designboom Premio Vico Magestretti competition"living simplicity in furniture design" show moved to the DePadova gallery in Miami during Art Basel. Grace Duo continues with the show.

Canadian Interiors has included our Meshoush screen in an article on ICFF 2007.
Todo Design participated in a group show coordinated by ON/OFF as part of Palermo Design Week in Palermo, Italy.
Bubble, Grace Duo and LockNLoad designs were exhibited as part of the Lebanese design collective during Palermo Design Week 07 16-21 October 2007.
Todo Design's Grace Duo has been shortlisted in the Designboom Premio Vico Magestretti competition. It is currently being shown in the "living simplicity in furniture design" show at DePadova gallery in Milan during 3 - 31 October 2007. The Show catalog is available.
The show will then move to Miami for Art Basel 6-9 December 2007.

Ani Soukiasian is a contemporary art dealer and a writer. She is of Iranian-Armenian origin and has been living in Armenia for approximately 15 years. She is the founder/director of Akanat Art Gallery which is increasingly gaining respect as the most serious commercial contemporary-art venue in Yerevan.
Ani will share with us some projects/exhibits that her gallery has produced.

Ken-ichiro Suzuki will be presenting his black and white photo series entitled "nowhere in tokyo", shot in the central district of Tokyo between 2002 and 2004 using a large format camera.
Ken-ichiro Suzuki is an architect from Japan, currently practicing in New York. “nowhere in tokyo” was first shown in Tokyo in 2004. This coming June he is invited to Barjola Museum in Gijon, Spain to have his second solo exhibition.

Stefanie Werner will be showing slides of her recent trip to Ghana, Africa, where she started working on the design of a small library in a remote village called Larabanga.
Stefanie Werner is a graduate of the Bauhaus University Weimar, Germany. She currently lives and practices architecture in New York City.
