The house sits atop a hill, almost a full story above the street.The design strategy called for flipping the house to bring the open plan public rooms up to the sunlit second floor and positioning the private rooms on the first floor where northern and southern views and the neighboring house flood them with direct and indirect light. Terraces wrapping three sides of the second floor glass box give ample access to outdoors.
